Is é Oifig Foilseachán an Aontais Eorpaigh an soláthraí oifigiúil seirbhísí foilsitheoireachta d’institiúidí, comhlachtaí agus gníomhaireachtaí uile an Aontais. Dá bhrí sin, is í an pointe lárnach rochtana ar dhlí an Aontais Eorpaigh, agus freisin ar fhoilseacháin, sonraí, torthaí taighde, fógraí soláthair agus faisnéis oifigiúil eile. Dá bhrí sin, tá ról lárnach ag Oifig na bhFoilseachán maidir leis an bpobal a chur ar an eolas faoin méid a dhéanann an tAontas Eorpach agus faoina bhfuil i gceist leis dóibh féin, sin agus maidir le cumhacht sonraí a scaoileadh.
